Did you know I prospected for my own gems?
This year, before the holiday season hit, I took a few days off from the studio and hit the road. I was longing for all the feels of fall that the Gorgeous Mohawk River Valley has to offer this time of year. My drive took me through the winding roads and small towns in upstate New York: all ablaze with Autumn colour and fully decked out with some of the best Halloween displays I've seen in decades.
My destination was the Ace of Diamonds mine; I had thoroughly enjoyed a visit there a couple years back on my way to Newfoundland and had been itching to return. The Ace of Diamonds mine is, for me, a little slice of heaven that allows people to come in and prospect for their own gems. The jackpot that I am searching for is the Herkimer diamond.
This lovely mineral isn’t actually a diamond, rather a spectacular, diamond shaped variety of quartz owing its name to Herkimer County, New York, USA, the principal place where it’s found.
Clearing the way for Creativity
Herkimers are used for clearing blocks and bringing in new energy and creativity.
They are also favoured as a very high vibration crystal treasured for their ability to clear the chakras & opening channels for spiritual energy to flow, to boost clairvoyance, to aid in the connection to dream states and to enter deeper levels of meditation.
Connecting hearts across distance
Herkimer quartz is an exceptional crystal for linking people who have to spend time apart, this also can be done with people and places. To create a bond, the Herkimers should be held simultaneously as one at first, then upon parting, each person should keep one of the stones. Alternatively, one of stones may remain at a special location while an individual keeps the other stone to connect back with the energy of the other person, group or place.
Want your own little slice of heaven? I am so thrilled to release this Herkimer Diamond collection. All of these beautiful stones were mined by me and my trusty hammer!
